Imagine a toddler taken away from a caring family. How about having to live a life as a slave and not treated like a human or fairly. Why keep details that could save other lives hidden? Wouldn't people like to know why Frederick Douglass never told anyone about his first betrayed escape plan or his success in getting to New York? Or why he had to keep those burdens and trials buried beneath his skin and relieves those with others? Why didn't Douglass tell us who betrayed him the first time he tried escaping? What could he be hiding or trying to protect? Could it really be that consequential for the person who betrayed them? He wouldn't tell us because he didn't want to jeopardize the person who betrayed them. Like a good caring human being,
