The reporter made quite a few pointers in his speech that I do agree with. The answer to the writing prompt shall be demonstrated in the following paragraphs.

As asked in the prompt, the reporter builds their argument to persuade his audience that Frederick Douglass believed that the passing of the 15th amendment didn’t end challenges for Black people in being treated equally by using Douglass’s experiences to understand why he felt as if the 15th amendment didn’t satisfy. For example as stated in the reporter’s argument, “He remembered that he always looked forward with yearning to the time when Maryland should not contain a slave. Uneducated as he was he knew enough of logic of events, of the sense right and wrong that the day would come when not a chain should clank nor fetter gall, nor whip crack over a slave”. This indicates that Douglas didn’t appreciate the fact that Maryland had slaves. So, he ran away from his home;from Maryland. But, as stated in the argument, that isn’t really what Douglas wanted to get away from. Douglas loved Maryland. As stated in the argument, “He loved Maryland, its waters, its fertile fields in Talbot county its fishing grounds and everything in it except
