To be a leader is to be someone that people look up to and can trust to guide them in the right direction. There are a few qualities that many leaders share. Some of those qualities are: Passion, Courage, and Vision. For one to be passionate about something, one must strongly hold an idea or opinion about something. Fredrick Douglass was very passionate about abolitionism. He knew what being a slave was like and could make the connection to them because of his past. Because of his past, he was so invigorated with the idea that all could be free which caused him to do great things. Courage, is another quality some leaders have. As Eddie Rickenbacker said “Courage is doing what you’re afraid to do. There can be no courage unless you’re scared.”
