Essie loved the water, the way it felt when it touched her skin was something that she could never describe with her words. She loved when she could simply walk to the back of her house and watch the rapid roar over the rocks, smoothing and shaping them with each power current that ran over them. Essie loved that, she loved how slowly the rocks would conform to what the water wanted them to be, much like how she had built her business. Running ideas over and over again until she finally wore people down and made them conform to her ideas. As I walked in and opened the door I saw a parrot, chained to the rod in the closet with a gag in it’s mouth. It was enough to get Sam in for animal abuse. After Sam was booked I went back to retrieve the parrot from the filth it was living in. As I removed the gag the bird started and squawked, “Why did you take me? Let me out! Sammey please!”, the bird would not stop it’s yelling. That when it feel together perfectly into one piece, I recorded the bird and went back to the police station. Sam was still in the interrogation room, he refused to talk to anyone and never requested a lawyer to be present. I walked into the room and placed the recorder on the table, just out of Sam’s reach. “Here’s something you can listen too while you wait to decide if you are going to cooperate or not.” I set the recorder down and pressed play. I jumped to action and the searching of the bird filled the room. Then I left, the sound playing over and over again.
