A lot of people take freedom for granted. Some might not even realize that they have freedom! But freedom is not something you get, you have to work for it. You have to put a lot of components and time into gaining freedom. Freedom is a privilege that you have to work for.
To me freedom means being able to wake up and feel safe. Freedom is being able to speak or act and not feel restricted. I am grateful for the freedom I have but I am also a little concerned. To me freedom is something you should honor and cherish. I do realize that what freedom means to me and what freedom can mean to someone else can be very different.
Webster Dictionary defines freedom as a “political right”. To me, freedom is much more than that. Freedom gives me and the people of America the right to do anything we want; it allows us to be ourselves no matter where you come from, or who you are. Unfortunately, America has not always been this way; people of different races were treated like trash on the sidewalk. Frederick Douglass had a first-hand experience to this treatment, and he knew what it was like before America allowed everyone to actually be “free”.
Freedom lives and breathes in everything we as Americans do. The freedom we have today reminds me of where freedom does not exist yet. There are many countries where the citizens have heard about our freedom, but cannot experience it for themselves. We can only hope for those people right now, and dream of a world that’s free.
Freedom is the ability to love whomever we want, It is when you give without expecting a favor, It is the power to forgive when you've been mistaken, it is the capability to do right without being proud of it. Freedom to me is America, as simple as that. On July 4th, 1776 America gained freedom from Great Britain, for this is one of the most important dates in American history.
Ever wondered why freedom is so important to America? Why we need freedom and why some people take advantage of it? Or why we have rules with the freedom we have? Freedom to me isn’t just a word, it’s a way of life that everybody uses, sure, all people are unique but freedom is the one thing that makes us all the same, as equals and individuals.
The amount of freedom that America gives to us goes mostly unnoticed in this country. Citizens of the United States have freedom of speech, the right to bare arms, freedom of religion, technology, a good education system, and democratic government. In our country's constitution, we are allowed to say what we think about the government without having any punishments. Since we have this right our government is able to hear the public’s opinion and do what is most beneficial for the people. In addition, the government allows us to protect ourselves properly by having the right to bare arms.
The concept of freedom is extremely prominent in American culture. It is also debated so heavily to the point of controversy in our media, our workplaces, social circles, and even our homes. In this essay I will define the word “freedom,” related synonyms and contrast the term with antonyms and examples of negations. We, as Americans, pride ourselves on the freedom that our country was founded upon, yet we alienate each other due to disagreements on these privleges afforded to us by our government as citizens of the United States of America. Whether it be the “right” to marriage, or the ability to buy firearms, freedom, as defined by Merriam-Webster, is “the ... state of being free, etc.”
Question # 1 First off, freedom is ultimately the most important priority and right for any individual, the freedom of living here in America were we are protected by our National defense and freedom to choose from right and wrong. With that being said freedom vs order would take precedence over freedom vs equality, without order our country would have no direction, authority or supervision. Unfortunately, the world would run amuc, like barbarians, dominating the streets with the notion that we are all entitled and just as equal as the next. Not to say that equality is of no importance, we all should be treated equally, but only if we are doing what is right.
Freedom, the state of being free or at liberty rather than in confinement or under physical restraint. Do you want to know what freedom means to me. To me freedom means that you can do what you want. Did you know that are many freedoms you have as an American Citizen? Some people don’t know they have certain freedoms or don’t understand some of them.
