Years after George Orwell wrote the book “Animal Farm,” based around communist Russia at the time, present day universities are facing some of the same problems the animals in the book seemed to be having. Harvard especially has been accused of censoring student’s freedom of speech and other rights, just as the pigs had censored some of the animal’s freedoms. In the book, the pigs are mostly the leaders, or those censoring the lesser animals, such as the horses, hens, and sheep. In Harvard and other universities, the administrators are the ones censoring the students. Students are having their freedom of speech taken away and in the book, the pigs take away Sunday meetings, abolish the singing of Beasts of England, and censor the wrongdoing
