The three freedoms the government should uphold in honor of the fallen soldiers at Gettysburg are the freedom of speech, the right to bear arms, and the freedom to a speedy and public trial. The freedom of speech is one of the most know if not the most know American freedom. It allows you and others to have your own opinion and say it out loud. The right to bear arms is a very disputed freedom. But, the soldiers in the civil war fought to protect themselves and others so why can’t the citizens protect themselves. And finally the freedom to a speedy and fair trial. This guaranties that when someone is accused of a crime they get a trial that will give them a fair and unbiased trial.
The freedom of speech. The most notorious freedom in the Constitution. It allows Americans to say what they want. And if you can say what you what that you can have opinion, debates, controversial movies and tv shows, and protests. Although there are different freedoms for free media and peaceful protest, if there was not a freedom of speech then these other freedoms would not work properly.

The soldiers who died in Gettysburg were fighting to protect their country and their families. So why shouldn’t they be aloud to protect themselves? One example of when a citizen has protected others was in November of 2008. Ernesto Villagomez walked into a bar and killed two people and injured two more. Then a citizen at the bar pulled out his own gun and shot and stopped Ernesto Villagomez. The man who shot Ernesto Villagomez had a concealed carry permit, but no name was given to who he was. There were 300 people in that bar. Therefore, if it was not for this man and the freedom to bear arms hundreds could have died. This honors the fallen soldiers by showing how every citizen can help protect others and their
