There are a lot of different ideas in this world about many different things. For example whether life is governed by fate or individual freewill. Some people know their side and others do not know and are stuck in between the two. Depending on what is happening in their life at the moment people can change which one they believe in. Just like the story of Oedipus. Oedipus is a myth that is turned around whether his life is governed by fate or individual freewill. Everything starts by the Oracle of Delphi who tells Oedipus’ story with no chance of him choosing his life ,it was just told to him. He was told he was destined to kill his father and marry his mother. Which sounded crazy and incorrect but was still said to be his fate. Even though Oedipus tried to run away from what was said to happen it still happened. He did not want to kill his father and marry his mother, it was just unbelievable. It was also impossible to run from his fate, after a disagreement he had with some guys he fought and killed one. Without him knowing that was his father. There it was his fate , nothing he could do about it just like he thought right? Or was this his choice? Some people can believe that the Oracle said he was going to kill his father so he had no choice, but others believe it was freewill. All coming back to how much this story circles around faith and freewill. Even though the Oracle said one thing he had the choice to do another. This belief is freewill. It was Oedipus’ fault he was angry when told to move out of the way on the crossroads. If he would have decided to control himself and his actions he would not have killed the man. The man who was his father. Without him knowing the Oracle was correct whether it was his fate or
