Britain won the war and got the acadia land and the french did not In 1763 the french signed the treaty of paris and then gave acadia and new france to britain. Great Britain profited from the French and Indian War due to their gain in money, power, and land. One example of Great Britain profiting from the French and Indian War is the French gain in land control. The British took all of the lands from the East coast to Lousiana and they took over all of Canada from the French. They were able to claim the Ohio Valley, and they also captured the important city of Quebec from the French. From the article A history of Louisiana Before 1813 by Paul E. Hoffman, it stated,”Great Britain officially conceded Spanish ownership of Louisiana in February 1763 in one of the series of treaties ending the French and Indian War.
The French and Indian War altered the relations of the American Colonies and Britain through political, economic, and geographical issues. At the start of the French and Indian War the French owned a big majority of land but the during the war the French lost their land to the English. The Treaty of Paris in 1763 gave the English, the French land of North America (Doc A).
A very interesting time after the French and Indian War. There were a lot of things that caught my attention in this chapter. One being the fact that the French and local tribes worked together to fight the British as well as trade and supply one another for survival. Another was how Pontiac’s Rebellion and the Paxton Boys’ were early American race wars. It is not surprising that no one could identify or wanted to identify any of the murderers from the Paxton Boys.
the French and Indian War had cost the British The Proclamation of 1763 a lot of money. The war was fought in the North American colonies. With aid of Native Americans, the British won. They took over and gained a lot of land in the colonies, which were originally owned by the French. But they had borrowed a huge amount of money to help fund the war.
The French and Indian war took place from 1754 and ended in 1763, the same time as the Treaty of Paris was established. This war was also known as the Seven Years’ war. This war bought many conflicts from different aspects that had an affect on Great Britain and different colonies. The war changed the relationship, politically, between Great Britain and different colonies drastically.
The American Revolution The French and Indian War impacted the American Revolution in many ways. Britain incurred a large debt from the cost of the war and the taxes that they imposed on the colonists created feelings of anger and rebellion that led to the revolution. As a result of the French and Indian war, the British were not at full strength which allowed the actions of the colonists to be more effective. Because of the outcome of the war, France was willing to help the colonists. Without the much needed help from the French the colonist may have never won the war.
At the end of the French and Indian war, King George could not take such utter disrespect. The British started to put in new laws and boundaries in place that ultimately would hurt every party that was involved with them. The British had lost a tremendous amount money as well as the French did paying off the money to wartime debt. Lots of Indians lost their lives and had the land taken away from them. The American colonist are the only ones out of the seven year war to come out somewhat unscaled.
The British captured Louisburg and dealt the final blow to the French when they captured Quebec in 1759. The war finally ended in 1763 with the Treaty of Paris which allowed the British to keep Canada as well as gain Florida, but in return the French were allowed to keep the West Indian sugar islands and Spain received Louisiana ("French and Indian War"). The French and Indian war greatly impacted the relationship between England and the American colonies causing tension between the two for many years and eventually resulting in the Revolutionary war. During the Great War for Empire England accrued a sizeable debt and believed that the colonies should do their part in helping to pay it off.
The French and Indian War was a war from 1754 to 1763 between the Kingdom of Great Britain and France in North America. The war extended to the world as part of the Seven Years War. It officially came to a close with the Treaty of Paris in 1763 and North America territories were divided to United Kingdom. Spain ceded Florida to the United Kingdom. France ceded Louisiana to the east of Mississippi River to the United Kingdom as compensation.
Over in Europe, France and Great Britain were also having conflict leading to a war involving both of their colonies. The majority of the Natives decided to ally themselves with the French because of the conflicts between the Indian tribes and the land that was promised the Natives if they assisted the French in winning. At the end of the war, the winners proved to be the English. The French lost some of their land to the English colonies while the English gained some status in the world economy for defeating their biggest competition. Out of everyone involved, the Native Americans lost the most.
Majority of the natives sided with France, however some sided with the British. Prior to the war, the French were known for their peaceful relations with the natives. They were less interested in claiming land and were more interested in the fur-trade. They set up friendly trading with the Algonquian and Huron tribes in the area. The Algonquian and Huron tribes were known allies
The French and Indian War, also known as the Seven Years' War, was a conflict between Great Britain and France that took place from 1754 to 1763 and was fought primarily in North America. The war began when France and Great Britain both claimed the Ohio River Valley, a region located in the western part of present-day Pennsylvania. The French began building forts in the area, which angered the British, who responded by sending troops to oust the French. The war also had a significant impact on Native American populations, who suffered greatly because of the conflict. I think this war was a crucial turning point in American history, it was a defeat for French and French colonial ambition in North America for independence before it even started.
After the discovery of the New World, there were three main contenders : the English, the French, and the Spanish. The Spanish remained in the south, which led the English and the French to go head to head for trade with the American Indians. This was no easy fight, as cooperation on the American Indians side was needed. The British had more soldiers, so this made the the French have a less worthy chance to win the trade with the American Indians. However, the French were more successful at trading with the American Indians, because they had smaller settlements, French men intermarried, and they were more interested in the fur trade then settling.
The French and Indian War At first glance, both websites present me with two different pictures, two different stories, and two different points of view of a dramatic time in history that would forever change the way the United States of America would come to be. I chose to compare History.com and Britannica.com manly because I wanted to see the difference, if any, in an American based website and a more British based website on the topic of the French and Indian War. A war between the French and the British over territorial claims which took place in North America. Needless to say, most of the information found on said websites was almost identical. However, the information given from Britannica.com was so much into detail that they even went as far back as 1663, 91 years before
