With the revolution on going in France, politicians in France swapped the old Gregorian calendar with a new one. This event had revolutionized the everyday lives of the people of France. Although not all events that came from this event were beneficial to the citizens of France the negative effects towards the citizens of France had led to people questioning why they had adopted such a calendar. 11 documents have been examined to help explain the effect on the French citizens and they have been categorized into three groups; reports/request, compliments towards the new calendar, and complaints going against the new calendar. This truly was going to revolutionize people’s lives they were going to have to learn new measurement systems which would only be used in France. Document 6 showed what happened on a 10th day in the 10 day week for France. This document showed that people would go to what used to be a church to hear the accomplishments of their Republic government and to honor the generals who helped France gain liberty.
