If Friar didn’t marry them it would of not started the chain reactions of events that occur next. The play ends with three tragic deaths; those including being Romeo and Juliet. Friar Laurence is mostly to blame for the tragic events in Romeo and Juliet, because of he did things in secret, not communicating clearly, and not executing his plans. The first reason why Friar Laurence is to blame is because he married Romeo and Juliet.
Shortly after Romeo and Juliet first meet, they decide to have an “exchange of [their] love’s faithful vow”, meaning a vow of marriage (Shakespeare 2.2.127). The two characters turn to Friar Laurence to officiate the marriage. While Friar Laurence agrees, his hopes for the marriage were not to make Romeo and Juliet happy, but rather to mend the feud between their families. He believes the “alliance” between the two would “turn [their] households’ rancor to pure love” (Shakespeare 2.3.90-92). Friar Laurence has other priorities that he sees as more important than the newlyweds and their happiness.

This well known Shakespeare quote is spoken by Friar Lawrence which foreshadows the biggest point of the play. Romeo and Juliet are star crossed lovers who try to be together because they believe their love is strong enough to prevail. These two characters have been involved in a fued lasting their whole lives but yet, they find love within each other.

If Juliet really loved Romeo she would’ve ran to him and had an affair with him while she was still married to Paris. This ultimately leads to the deaths of both of these two, as well as some others. These deaths which take place in Verona can be mostly blamed on just one person, the friar of the town, Friar Lawrence. Friar Lawrence is the one who wed Romeo and Juliet together, and continued the lies between the Capulets and Montagues.

However, his actions and decisions ultimately lead to their tragic demise. The Friar's misguided advice and reckless behavior are the primary reasons why Romeo and Juliet died. Firstly, Friar Laurence should never have agreed to marry Romeo and Juliet in secret.
It might have been Lord Capulet who caused their death, Mercutio, or even Fate itself. However, Romeo's abruptness with his "Heart's dear love," and their love life caused an excess of distress(2.3.57). However, Friar Laurence agreed to break the rules and intentionally marry Romeo and Juliet secretly. Their life was between Friar Laurence's hands, and he failed to keep their lives a grasp, causing the most mayhem in their so told true love. There are many things that contributed to both Romeo and Juliets death, but the most significant reason was Friar Lawrence. He is responsible for their deaths because of his bad advice and how he let teenagers make serious decisions without their families knowledge.
Why is Friar Laurence responsible for all the deaths? First and foremost,Friar Laurence agreed to perform the marriage of Romeo and Juliet. For example,he knew marriage was a bad idea because their families were sworn enemies. Similarly,the friar recognized that the relationship was moving too fast and did nothing to stop it.

To begin, Friar Laurence considered to be a holy man according to the the parents of the two lovers. Therefore conveying that the two families believed in him. He wedded the two innocent lovers without talking to their parents, creating chaos within their lives.
As they arrange a marriage behind everyone’s back, everything seems to be testing them; including a fight that broke out and ended in Tybalt’s murder and Romeo being banished from his hometown, Verona. Juliet could not go without being with her love, Romeo, and quickly had to find a way to be with him before her other marriage that her father arranged for her took place. As the friar arranges a plan for the two star-crossed lovers to reunite, things don’t work out the way they’re supposed to and end in the deaths of both characters. This quote shows that friar Lawrence wanted Romeo and Juliet to get married. He also wanted them to get married because he thought it would cause a feud.

I feel like it was a very young age for them to get married, and this I believe it may have caused some stress in their lives that might have led to the rash decision to end their lives.
