What is friendship? Friendship is full of trust, love, and loyalty. Lennie and George in Of Mice and Men, written by John Steinbeck, is a great example of what friendship is like. They are two people that are very different that had been brought together. Even though, they had some hard time in Weed and Soledad, they had each other's back through it all. Lennie is a large man, who has a childlike mentality. He does not really know what is right from wrong. Lennie caused trouble in Weed so George took Lennie, and ran so nobody would hurt Lennie. Then, in Soledad, Lennie made a accidentally killed Curley's wife, so it was all up to George at this point. He had three choices in the end: one, turn Lennie in and let him go to jail; two, let all the guys find Lennie and make Lennie have a long, painful death; or three, kill Lennie himself. In the end, George made the right decision. George and Lennie has a true friendship because George took Lennie under his wing, they look after each other, and George shot Lennie. …show more content…

If Lennie did not have George, he would not have anyone. “When his Aunt Clara died, Lennie just come along with me out workin’” (40). Lennie’s Aunt Clara took him when he was baby, so she raised him. Once she died, Lennie would not of had anyone if George wasn’t around. So, George took Lennie under his wing, and they worked together. From the time they spent together, they developed a brotherly love towards one another. George is Lennie's safe place. He knows that if George is around, he is going to be okay.
