The story, Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, is about two friends named George Milton and Lennie Small. George is the smart and clever one and is always watching out for Lennie because he has brain of a small child and always getting himself in trouble. George and Lennie are looking for a new job after they were chased out town after Lennie, who likes to pet soft things, petted a woman too hard. They were able to find a new job on a ranch in Soledad, California. They wanted to save up money so they can buy their own ranch. On their new job they meet their new co-workers Slim, Carlson, Candy, and Crooks. As well on the ranch are Curley and his wife, who has no name. One afternoon, on the ranch Lennie goes into the barn to pet some puppies.
