The words are repeated, following the initial delivery. This song is a good representation of Phil Spector’s style and his wall of sound. Phil Spector was one of the most influential producers ever to work in rock music. His techniques changed the way rock music was recorded. His “wall of sound” was achieved through reverbing and doubling.
Even to this day, we still use Athens and Sparta’s societal systems and structures because they were so revolutionary. Athens even introduced the idea of democracy, and Sparta had a strong military culture. Although Athens and Sparta were close together, Athens focused on leadership and education while Sparta focused on the military and war. However, due to their different governments and cultures, each has their strengths and weaknesses. However, because Athens focuses on its future leaders, Athens is the better model for a society.
Audience People listen to music to have fun and relax along with many other reasons, but this song is different from what other music is like. It teaches a lesson to the audience, how to be kind to each other and how to not be mean or mad at each other, also
Tragic Yet Beautiful Kindred Spirits was selected as our second piece of music for CMEA on May 7, 2016, because it is a tragic ballad that symbolizes the loss of two of our own. We use a motto in band when preparing for CMEA. The motto goes as follows: Establish your Unanimous Superior in the first song, Earn your Unanimous Superior in the second song, and Don’t lose your Unanimous Superior in the final song. Through the use of a story, symbolism, and complexity, this piece will help us earn our Unanimous Superior after establishing it in the first piece of music, Overture Jubiloso. One reason Kindred Spirits was chosen was because it has a tragic background.
The song has a more positive take on life. Watsky talks about how all of his hard work will pay off and that he will have time to rest once he has moved on. He accepts that he cannot live forever, so he is going to make the most of it while he is here. The song is about worrying what you can control, and to stop dwelling on situations that are out of your hands. The track incorporates a chorus that really ties in well with the rest of the track.”
The poem, Dirge Without Music, by Edna St. Vincent Millay, is expressing that a loss of a loved one can be difficult to overcome. In this poem, the author tends to repeat the same phrase. “I am not resigned” (Millay 1.1). According to the google dictionary being resigned means “Having accepted something unpleasant that one cannot do anything about.”
Frank Ocean once said, “When you 're happy, you enjoy the music. But when you 're sad, you understand the lyrics.” Why does one have to be sad to “understand the lyrics”? Evaluating a song and being given the ability to relate enhances one’s respect for the composer. For example, when one first listens to “Danny’s Song” by Kenny Loggins, they probably believe the song is about love, however, once a person analyzes the lyrics the realize that the song is actually a story of a couple who are having a baby boy.
Societal expectations are a part of everyone’s life, male or female. From the day people are born, there are roles they are expected to assume-- wife, homemaker, father, provider, mother and many others. While these aren’t necessarily negative, the stigma of not fulfilling these roles can be unpleasant. While the roles we are supposed to choose aren’t always clearly defined, the judgement that comes from choosing to take certain actions in life, like settling down or becoming a mother is palpable. Throughout The House on Mango Street, Esperanza’s view of the world is largely shaped by the people around her, which are her neighbors, family, and friends.
This song is about a man who is telling their lover that only love will free them of their cold heart. This begins with the man asking how it felt to be alone. “When you were young and on your own, how did it feel to be alone?” Young started this song with those lyrics because he wanted the song to have a stronger message. Isolation makes a person’s heart go cold and only love can break that ice.
However Ludacris only uses a few poetic devices, they enhance the tone of the song. People who listen carefully or read the lyrics to this song realizes that he is displaying a very serious story of three young girls facing hardship and their struggle to survive. These girls are fed up with the life they are forced to live and feel as if the only solution is to runaway. The ton of “Runaway Love”, is melancholy and dark, an opens eye’s to a problem that most people try to ignore. These girls should be enjoying their childhood but instead they are taking on the roles of an adult.
An important aspect of both music and communication is making your thoughts relatable. Making something relatable will allow your audience to connect and care about it more knowing that they have felt similar things. Everyone has regrets and think about the past, lost loves, and reminisce about the good ole days of our past. Nostalgia is a powerful tool utilized by artist typically to provide listeners with memories and allow them to empathize with the work. This song makes me reflect on a time where I once made a mistake with someone I was romantically interested.
In the “Nothing Gold Can Stay” it talks about a poem how life isn 't always perfect and a smile on your face like if there is always no trouble, sometimes you think that life will always
Some times we just want to start over again and the song perfectly portrays that. Also it saids “… screams but no one hears a thing” Guy Montag was trying to tell his wife about books but as much as he tried she wouldn 't listen to him like the song. In the story theres a lot of conflict that had happen but like the song saids that after a hurricane theres a rainbow. When all the bad stuff that is happening in his life its like the hurricane and the rainbow can be when he found the hobos that weren 't just hobos. Set fire to the rain by Adele expresses the feelings that Guy Montag could have been feeling.
This simple lyric catches the eyes and the ears, because it is exactly on point and direct. “This song is an overview of the album's most important ideas, as well as a sort of a warning calling out to the people across the country: don't let them take away your personality, don't let them turn you into Idiot
Growing up in a society obsessed with the concept of sappy love stories, it is easy to find flaws with the unrealisticness of such accounts of love. Songwriter Taylor Swift contributes to the popular trend of mainstream love stories in her own composition, “Love Story.” Throughout her song, Swift effectively incorporates the use of various figurative devices to relate her own love story with that of the famous Shakespearean lovers, Romeo and Juliet. Swift conveys the strength of her forbidden love, in similarity with that of Romeo and Juliet’s, through the use of metaphors, hyperboles, and allusions. First and foremost, Swift uses clear examples of metaphors throughout her song to maintain the resemblance of Romeo and Juliet’s love story with her own love story.
