“Guess what day it is?” Starts the infamous GEICO commercial we have all come to know, love, or hate. Over the years GEICO has been known for their hilarious and clever commercials. They aim to entertain the people and their commercials are sometimes even considered wildly entertaining. The GEICO Hump day commercial features a talking camel that is overly enthusiastic. While the commercial is memorable, humorous, and somewhat relevant, it lacks appeal in many areas including facts, credibility, and association with the company itself. The saying Hump Day is associated with the middle of the week- Wednesday- the hump of the week. There is also another saying associated with the word hump day, it is a sexual meaning. While most of the society already knows about the sexual meaning version of the word, the camel in the commercial makes a joke out of it using a laughable perspective on the saying. It also portrays a business setting where the people are depressingly working at their tedious jobs in their office cubicles. While this helps to relate to people it lacks credibility in other areas. The commercial is quite catchy, people quote it all the time but half the time they can’t remember where they got it from. GEICO which is the companies name is only stated briefly at the end of commercial. The company spent too much time trying to make us laugh that they forgot to leave a memorable impression for their company. Most people associate GEICO with a talking gecko or a cavemen, so without either of those we forget that the laughable camel is endorsing
