Gambling addiction is a growing issue in Canada that affects not only individuals but also their families and communities. This report defines a community engagement project aimed at addressing the problem of gambling addiction in Canada. The community issue that this report proposes to respond to is the increasing number of individuals who suffer from gambling addiction in the country. Gambling addictions aren't just a personal problem, it affects everyone around that person such as their family and community. People with these addictions often have financial struggles which then lead to relationship problems and mental health issues and this causes lots of stress and conflict within the family. Additionally, gambling could cause increased crime rates as those who are addicted may resort to anything be it legal or illegal to finance their addiction, this makes it important for the whole community as crime affects everyone
Proposed Action
The suggested course of action entails raising public awareness of gambling addiction and offering assistance to those who are impacted by it through volunteerism and community outreach initiatives.
