Game of thrones is a book series written by Gorge R.R Martin, that was turned in to an Emmy award winning, hit, HBO TV show. The first episode of this Fantasy political drama aired in 2011 with the latest season airing this year. From all the seasons this TV show has I decided to use Season 5 as an example of this TV show imitating History. Through the Ten episodes of season 5, I have found a lot of things Game of thrones have taken from Ancient Rome, Greece and Egypt cultures. The first one I had noticed in the first episode was the use of slaves in Mereen where Daenerys, played by Emilia Clarke, is. This Idea of slaves were taken from the Roman culture. In Rome, slaves made up 40 percent of the population. It was the largest group in Rome. Also in Rome, if you were to have a slave you were thought to be of great importance, therefore the more slaves you had the higher up you would be.
