In this stage, an individual started to accept their thoughts and moves from confusion and incongruence toward to the main task of this stage which is to handle the social alienation that gives rise to the awareness of the distinctions of oneself to others. There are numerous ways on how people deal with social alienation. Not everyone belonging in the sexual minority group are able to reach this stage of identity development because of several factors that prevents them to disclose their identity.
