Introduction
The USA is often hailed as “land of opportunities”. We have analysed and investigated the cultural similarities and differences between India and USA and we present to the board of Serendipity India the findings and recommendations for a successful global expansion in US.
Position of US in Hofstede’s Dimensions relative to India

Each year on the fourth Thursday in November, Americans gather for a day of feasting, football and family. While today’s Thanksgiving celebrations would likely be unrecognizable to attendees of the original 1621 harvest meal, it continues to be a day for Americans to come together around the table—albeit with some updates to pilgrim’s menu. Thanksgiving has its historical roots in religious and cultural traditions, and has long been celebrated in a secular manner as well. The traditional Thanksgiving menu in the United States generally consists of turkey and stuffing, cranberry sauce and couple of vegetable casseroles of some kind.
The economics of Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is the capital holiday for the United States economy. Millions of Americans take the road and skies to be with their families, and friends re-unite the evening before Thanksgiving at bars across America. All of these economic activities have large effects on labourers employed in relevant industries, as well as financial services companies that support the customer-facing companies. It is best to not bring up old feuds, to bury the hatchet and celebrate the holiday together. It’s important to spend time with the different guests at the dinner rather than be distracted by food or television. Additionally, it is of great importance to arrive on time and not to bring any uninvited guests or pets. Offering help to the host in setting up the table and cleaning up is greatly appreciated. It is very important to thank the host for the meal and tell them how good the meal was as a courteous remark.
