Who knew marketing to both men and women could be so complex. Most people are unaware that the aspect of marketing to two different genders can be completely different. It has been proven that over the past 20 years researchers are trying to break down the barriers and find more effective ways of marketing to both genders. It’s all about finding out what appeals to men and women most, like what catches their eye. Old Spice is a company that specializes in hair and body products for men. Old Spice has become one of the most popular brands used by men all across the world. The company has a fantastic marketing scheme when it comes to getting the product line across the men. In their commercials, which are known worldwide, they use an attractive male surrounded by attractive female to show what the product will do for you. In a commercial produced by Old Spice in May 2013, they state “Anything is possible when your man smells like Old Spice”. The commercials try to portray the message that if a male wear old spice, they will have women surrounding them, just like they show on the television.
