“A Jury of Her Peers” (1917) written by Susan Glaspell: explores how power differences and gender roles shape perspective, such as making men empowered and women belittled. It is written from a third person perspective of a mysterious murder investigation. The characters are Mr. Wright (Victim), Mrs.Wright (Known as Minnie Foster), Mr. Peters (the sheriff), Mrs. Peters (known to the men as the sheriff’s wife), Mr. Hale (First person to hear about the death), Mrs. Hale (Goes by Martha Hale also known to the men as Mr. Hale's wife), and lastly Mr. Henderson (county attorney). Without this key evidence they will have no reason to blame Mrs. Wright for her husband's death. At this point in the passage, the women are still in the kitchen conversing, while the men are going all over the house looking for clues, only to see the already discovered body. They also stand up for each other, like when they didn't tell the men about the bird, which would prove that Mrs. Wright is
