This article is focused on women and their clothing color of choice during the ovulation period within their menstrual cycle. The purpose of the experiment is to find out how females of the human species unconsciously display their fertility levels in an observable manner, if they do at all. It is thought that women in some way indicate that they are fertile, but before this article it was not known how it was expressed. With species outside of the human race, the colors red and pink are commonly used to show a female’s readiness to mate with a male. These colors are stereotypically associated with love, and lust in humans as well. The study involved using 124 American women aged 17-47 in survey, and a data collection to test their theory. At the time of the study, all of these women were asked what color they were wearing while completing a questionnaire online. After answering this question, they were asked about their menstrual cycle, how many days since the first day of their last period. A woman’s fertile period is usually on days 6-14 of her cycle. In this study, this group of women were classified as the “high-conception risk group”, and everyone outside of this window was considered as the “low-conception risk group”. To be sure about the accurateness of the dates of the last period, these women were given a window of a couple of days to ensure the accuracy. Women could be wrong on a scale of 1-7 days in their estimation. All participants who responded with seven, seven being the number of days before or after their period could have taken place, were excluded from the study. This finding suggest that women will most likely wear pink or red at the time of peak fertility, which confirms that females of the human species also display readiness to mate in an observable manner resembling females of other varies species.
