General biology is a transformative educational process. It begins in the early years when it is first presented to children and develops onto later years where it is capable to be further understood and explored. It allows for a person to analyze different perspectives, beliefs and formulate opinions. In an average human life span at some point one is taught about the study of life known as biology. Basic scientific concepts are first introduced to students when they are young and unable to fully comprehend the subject. For young students basic science lessons are informative, of course, but also are mainly used to grab students’ attention to the subject rather than fully teaching them advanced ideas. It can transform a student’s thoughts and how they see things. As mentioned before, it all begins from an early age. You gain prospective from past experiences and gain meaning to them through that way. It’s common to forget and take advantage of the fact that you can formulate opinions due to one being so used to accepting things how they are because that is what one is taught to do. As you learn new things you can add that onto previous knowledge and build new perspectives. Transformative learning allows for one to reformulate your beliefs and at times change can be difficult and uncomfortable to some.
