The first part of the General environment analysis we will cover is political. Since Tesla is selling cars in countries outside of North America, such as Asia and Europe, they need to be aware of political influences in each region, as it relates to their business. One of the most prominent political factors is the Environmental Protection laws which require cars to meet strict emission levels. Another factor is the US government energy loan programs that regulate the development and research of new car technologies. Next we will discuss technology, currently Tesla is working on the automation of cars which will allow them to drive themselves as well as avoid accidents. Their main focus is in the safety, but their selling point is increased convenience for the consumer. However there are still some current issues that need to be addresses. Individuals are looking for alternatives to gasoline cars in order to help the environment. People are more focused on the type of fuel their car uses and the idea of having an electric car is almost a social statement for some. Still car manufactures need to generate not only eco-friendly cars, but make sure the vehicles are fuel-efficient and desirable for the customers.
