The whole foundation of General Mills is to set to make money and to help others flourish economically. Knowing that general mills is one of the world’s largest food companies, General Mills still operate in more than 100 countries and markets more than 100 consumer brands, including Cheerios, Häagen-Dazs, Natural Valley, Betty Crocker, Pillsbury, Green Giant, Old El Paso, Progresso, Yoplait, Cascadian Farm, Muir Glen and much more. Revealing that expresses how much General Mills care and support their customers and the rest of the world. To show how General Mills care about their world, on March 15, 2011 stated by General Mills new release, General Mills had donated roughly $650,000 to the Red Cross International Disaster Response Fund on behalf of the devastating earthquake and tsunami in japan during that time. Knowing that, General mills can be said that it is subject to the seven environmental forces just like the other major food companies. The seven forces which are legal, political, economic, cultural, ecological, technology and demographic is said to exert a powerful impact on the company within the next five years. Ways theses forces can affect the company of General mills is by the risk of global warming which is categorized under the political and ecological issue. The reason why global warming is a political and economical and is a risk to General mills and other major companies is because if global warming is at risk then prices of wholesales manufacturer goods could change with a gigantic increase. Allowing people to spend less on manufacturer goods that is supplied by major companies like General mills. If there was a change in global warming, a major company like General mills would be forced to retool their manufacturing process at substantial cost to their own
