Education is the key pathway for individuals to transcend poverty and for a nation to succeed economically and socially. I truly believe that teachers help deliver children from poverty through education and break the generational cycle of poverty. So, it felt like such a coincidence to play the role of a public school teach in the poverty simulation. At first it was difficult for me to visualize my classmates as people suffering from poverty. Then I saw the nametag my classmates were wearing. It had the color picture, name and age of the real person. This changed my perspective to the simulation. It all got too real, too fast.
