In Genesis, God makes a covenant with Abraham Genesis 17:6-7 “I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make nations of you, and kings will come forth from you. I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your descendants after you.” This is the covenant that Abraham made with God. From this would come the nation that would save the world. In exodus 23:7-8 “Then he took the book of the covenant and read it in the hearing of the people; and they said, ‘All that the LORD has spoken we will do, and we will be obedient!” So Moses took the blood and sprinkled it on the people, and said, ‘Behold the blood of the covenant, which the Lord has made with you in accordance with all these words’”. The people renew their covenant with God. Agreeing that they will follow everything that is written on the law. They don't do it but I mean give them credit for answering the right way when they needed to. In number is where God fulfils His covenant to Abraham about where his children shall live.
