Today we face a big debate on whether not genetically modified foods are safe to eat. I’d believe that genetically Modified foods were for the greater good and provided an easier, cheaper way to produce healthier food, and while it does produce easier, cheaper food, that food is a concern to our health. Is it really a big deal. Really, it depends on who you are and if you care to take notice to the chemically Modified and processed foods entering your diet. Plenty on this types of topic is still to be more and more studied no, but enough has been found to make me lean towards the fact genetically modified foods. The most basic definition of GMOs, are “genetically modified organisms,” are plants or animals that have been genetically engineered with DNA from bacteria, viruses or other even other plants and animals. People who are pro-GMO say they help farmers grow better crops faster. That means more, and cheaper, food for us. My second claim is that GMOs really, really help people because Without this remarkable technology, the earth will run out of resources and starvation will become endemic.Nearly a million children die every year because they are weakened by Vitamin A deficiencies and an additional 350,000 go blind.The development of golden rice was, it seemed, compelling and inspiring evidence that GM crops are the answer to malnutrition and hunger. I’m sure that given enough time and enough money, some viable genetically modified (GM) crops could be developed that contain more nutrients or have higher yields. But I’m not sure that even if that were to happen, it would actually benefit the world’s poor
