Author: William Golding Genre: Lord of the flies by William Golding is a novel. It is a story of a group of school boys who found themselves in a deserted Island and find ways to be rescued back home. Protagonist: The protagonist in the story is Ralph. He was elected by the boys as the leader of the group. Ralph was a true leader. He used his initiative to make decisions on how the boys can be rescued from the deserted island. He empowered the rest of the boys with his maturity that suggested team work until when they will be rescued. Antagonist: Jack is the antagonist in the novel. He was one of the students who was stranded on the Island. Jack opposed Ralph, the leader of the group in every decision. He loves power and later became the leader of the hunter group in the story. The boys decided to explore the Island and find ways to survive and be rescued. They hunted for food, made shelters out of wood and light fire as a signal to attract attention of ships passing by the island. Conflict: The boys were stranded on a deserted island. How do they find their way back home? Will they ever be rescued? How long will they remain on this island before they are rescued? These were some of the questions they asked themselves and couldn't find answers to. On the other hand, Ralph whom the boys choose as the leader of the team was been antagonist by Jack, who was known to be very wild and mean. He was chosen by the leader Ralph to be in charge of the hunters who are to look for food for the other
