In 1976 George won his first batting title with a .333 average and in the same year led the Royals to American League Championship Series, just on series away from the World series, but they were eliminated by the Yankees. In under 5 more years Brett won his second batting title with a .390 on the season while carrying a .400 all the way until September 19th. In the same year Brett won the American League MVP and led the Royals to the World Series where they were defeated by the Philadelphia Phillies. Then a measly five years later Brett won his first and only world series ring against the St. Louis Cardinals in 7 games. Finally in 1990 Brett won his third and final batting title with a .324 average and with this title Brett is the only baseball player to ever have three batting titles in three different decades.
