George Eliot, a famous author in the 18th century, wrote many novels, she was also very determined to explore her love of literature, writing and did not want to be judged as being soft hearted, therefore, she wanted to escape the stereotype of women only writing lighthearted romances in the Victorian Era. George Eliot was a female with the real name of Mary Ann Evans, who loved to express her words through writing novels. She was born on November 22, 1819 in a small town of Asbury Warwickshire, England. Her father was also born here and his name was Robert Evans, he is the one who raised her. Robert was also a local farmer (“George Eliot”). When Mary Ann was young she did in fact have a mother named Christina Evans but she died of a long loss illness. Her death date was, February 3rd. After Mary Ann’s mother died, it was at that point the she was really fascinated in writing.

She have used the pen name George Eliot’s, She used this pen name because she did not want to be judged for being a female and also for the fact about writing romances and love.
