George H. W Bush Achievements

George H. W. Bush was one of two presidents that started his presidential life as a vice president, then was elected as the president of the United States. Bush was able to have eight years of practice as a hands-on vice president before taking office.George Bush started out his presidential career strong when he took office as president. He started out by making a lot of champaign promises to earn supporters.When Bush was elected, his started to change his promises. Mr. Bush seemed to have failed as a president but he had made some improvements to the nation. He also came into presidency as one of the most qualified presidents. George H. W. W. Bush had economic issues. Bush frequently had problems with banks. Mr. Bush often would lose track of the economy and the banks would lend too many loans. Bush also spent a large amount of money on banks. These problems occurred because Bush had budget issues.

Although it seemed George H. W. Bush had very rough years as a president, Bush had strong years. Since Bush had many financial issues with banks and budgets, he created the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act. This act was created for to reduce taxes. Mr. Bush also signed the Americans with Disabilities Act. This act protected all citizens with disabilities from discrimination. Bush also supported legislation to provide money to jobs for individuals with disabilities. In additions to these acts, Mr. Bush signed the Clean Air Act.

Another part of George H. W. Bush’s strong presidential years were foreign affairs. Mr. Bush took on a very strong role in foreign affairs. Though Bush did very well in foreign affairs, he did not put much forcas on domestic affairs. Mr. Bush led the United States army successfully through the Persian Gulf War. Bush also sent General Noriega to trial for drug trafficking. During Mr. Bush’s foreign affairs, he had a close relationship with Milika Gorbachev. This helped the United States and the Soviet Union put together the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty. This was known as START. Bush was also able to send Noriega to prison for killing a United States service

W. Bush did not leave a great legacy behind. This was because he did not get along with other politicians. Even though he did poorly in domestic affairs by ignoring them, yet Bush left office by leaving behind three new acts that helped improve the United States. Mr. Bush created the Americans with Disabilities Act, Clean Air Act, and the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act. These acts made President George Bush look somewhat successful in his domestic affairs.

George H. W. Bush also left a negative impact behind. Bush tended it show a very petty attitude toward politicians, such as Michael Dukakis. This made him look unprofessional. Also Bush’s arguments with Dukakis took a lot of focus off of world problems. President Bush also did not do a good job at selling his achievements. Bush would also spend too much money on banks. This contributed to reasons why the United States economy began to slide.

In conclusion, George H. W. Bush was a failing president by making poor mistakes and not being reelected, but Also Mr. Bush was a decent president because he created new laws to make the nation a better place. President Bush was a bad president because he failed to keep promises and he failed to sell his achievements. Along with these problems Bush showed a childish personality when he had problems with politicians. In addition to being a failure of a president, Mr. Bush did improve the nation.
