Strike one , strike two, home run! As we all know Babe broke his own record today. Babe had a record of 59 home runs in 1921. This record had not been broken till today. The record stands at 60 home runs. George Herman “Babe” Ruth Jr. was born on February 6, 1896 in Baltimore, Maryland. Ruth lived with both his parents Katherine Schamberger and George Herman Ruth, Sr. Babe’s parents ran a Saloon where they both work hard, to hard to even pay attention to Babe. Katherine Schamberger and George Herman Ruth Sr. began to notice that Babe was becoming too much to handle. Babe then was sent to St. Mary’s Industrial School for Boys at age seven. After being signed for the minor-leagues he then began playing for the Boston Red Sox. Babe appeared in five games playing for the Red Sox in 1914. From the five games he pitched infour of the games. In 1918, Ruth was in the lead for the major-league with 11 home runs. After that great season the New York Yankee began getting interested in buying Ruth for the Yankees. In December 26, 1919 the Red Sox sold Ruth’s contract to the New York Yankees. Ruth’s contract was sold for $125,000. Ruth’s career was just beginning when he was signed with the new york yankees. Todays game is going to be very intense many fans rushed to the stadium hoping that Ruth will break his own world record that he had made in 1921. Babe hopefully does break the record. this record has been standing for 6 years and today might be the day that he gets the record to 60 home runs this season. Babe became even more dominant in his games when he was put as an outfielder. From there and on babe began changing the baseball game. Changing the records to higher number that couldn’t be beaten.
