George Herman Ruth Jr. was a professional major league baseball player. George Herman Ruth Jr. was born on February 6, 1895 in Baltimore, Maryland. George was also one of eight children, although only he and his sister Mamie survived. George Jr. early life as a child he was very bad and did things that would see him get into a lot of trouble. He would cause trouble in his neighborhood and also skip school. When George Jr. turned about 7 his parents thought it best to send him off to St. Mary’s Industrial School for Boys and it was a school run by Catholic monks. St. Mary’s helped George Jr.’s become a better person and helped him learn vocational skills. This was a school to help children become better in life later on in life and this place is where he also became in love with the game baseball.
