Thoughts. Everyone has them. They make the world go round. They keep things interesting. They have no boundaries. And most importantly, everyone’s are different. Everyone has their own personality, their own opinion, their own mind. General George Patton’s quote, “If everyone is thinking alike, then somebody isn't thinking,” immaculately captures the fact that everyone’s thoughts are different. Sometimes thoughts and opinions are similar, but everyone has a different mindset, a different way of thinking. The man responsible for this quote is George S. Patton. George, now buried in Luxembourg American Cemetery and Memorial, was an American soldier. He was one to survive through two harsh wars, and managed to not be fatally harmed in battle (Province). So, someone is not thinking because it is impossible for every mind to have the same idea. A great example in today’s society would be the current presidential election. Many people agree that Bernie Sanders should be president, but they have different reasoning for their decisions. And then some people completely disagree and would prefer that Donald Trump be the leader of our nation. If everyone had the same opinion then there would be no election, no debates, and no decisions to make. There will never be a time where no one has an argument or something to say. The world never stops spinning because no one lets it. No one’s personality is identical to another, and neither are their thoughts, and George’s quote beautifully illustrates that
