Listening to an audio recording of someone getting interviewed may be hard to understand, especially if it was recorded in 1939, visuals can help fill in the gap. Using a multi-media platform can help all kids of viewers like people who don’t understand the language, kids, and something that is hard to understand. In the video interview with George Washington Carver is a good example. Being an old recording and George having such a good vocabulary visuals can help understand the story a bit more. In the interview "George Washington Carver on Ego and Self” Carver, helps understand how ego and self can cloud the mind and effect judgment of self and others.

In the beginning he starts to explain a bit about himself and his fascination with oils and the art of healing. His interest bean when he was a masseuse for football players and runners. Then he begin to talk about how people should always go ahead in what they are doing whether people appreciate it or not and later someone will appreciate it. Then Glenn Clark asked Carver if he believes he is a chemist. Which Carver goes on to talk about ego and how some people will say they are the best at one thing that does not mean they are good in all the areas in the same categories. He then gives an example on a baker being good at making a cake and goes on to make remarks that she is the best baker when in reality all she knows how to make is a cake. I believe he is trying to say to stay humble and if someone is only good at making a cake, don’t go telling people you are the best baker when all they know how to do is make a cake. Then Carver begins to talk about self, he talks about how sometimes we need a break from ourselves and we need to stop talking about ourselves and to become more open to what others want. Carver also brings up the topic of the terrible I disease. Carver explain this as being a person who only care about themselves and not others. Then goes on to say that a person will not get far in life if all they think about is themselves that they need to look and judge
