I hope to make Georgia Tech’s class of 2022 one that is well rounded, by bringing a new perspective of today’s problems from rural communities, like my own, as well as, my understanding of the challenges people face in developing countries. While growing up in Thomson, my family emphasized values, such as caring for the people around you, just as you would yourself and to always respect people, regardless of who they are. I hope to show my fellow classmates support and consideration for all opinions and perspectives. As a four year Beta Club member, my peers elected me President a, and I’ve promoted the Club led numerous community projects. Through steady improvement, I’ve become my high school soccer team’s key player, and captain, while starting on Varsity all four years. Finally, our high school football coach called on me to be the team’s kicker for my senior year. I earned special teams player of the game on several occasions and earned the coveted “Golden Helmet” award for academic and athletic excellence. During my time in high school, I haven’t been challenged academically, as much as I would have preferred. I hope to find significant challenges at Georgia Tech, where I can take advantage of learning opportunities and gain a greater understanding of larger problems are sized up and solved. I hope to be a team player, who can work with other students to collectively tackle and solve problems, that will impact our world in increased productivity and efficiency.
