Introduction
Jordan Peele’s Get Out was produced in 2017. This psychological horror film explores racism through symbolism, music and color. Get Out was a film that captured racism's subtle and nuanced experiences. Peele used a variety of techniques to convey the message of the film. These techniques ranged from the symbolism of a deer being hunted to the use of music to emphasize the tension of certain scenes. The film specifically highlighted the horrors of being a black person in a white-dominated society. With his innovative and effective use of horror in conveying the message of racism in the movie, Peele has created a film that has won a lot of critical acclaim.

It also serves as a symbol of the powerlessness of African Americans in the face of racism and oppression. Furthermore, it implies that Chris is unable to escape the situation he is in due to the overwhelming power of his oppressors. This powerlessness is further emphasized by the fact that Chris is unable to break free from the psychological, physical, and symbolic chains of oppression that bind him to the sunken place. "Now you're in the sunken place" here, Chris cannot control your own thoughts, decisions, and actions. You are completely powerless and isolated. Trapped in darkness, with no escape in sight. Everything is just black and quiet, with no music and very mild colors. The symbolism of the sunken place in Get Out implies a lack of control and freedom, representing the powerlessness of oppressed individuals.
