Sometimes the only thing that is remembered about a person seems to be the failures. We often hear of great Generals from Robert E. Lee to George Patton and many others that have stood out in the course of history. There is one man nonetheless that seems to hold the title of “Greatest Failure in History”.
For example, the Generals worked tirelessly in order to ensure that his soldiers were doing what they did the best way possible. The Union genreal was Ulysses S. Grant. He was known as a huge frustration to the Northern government giving him orders, but he got the job done. Often people debated whether he was super smart or very stupid. His famous nickname was “Unconditional Surrender” he earned this nickname because he was famous for never surrendering and always fighting until the last bullet flew through the sky.

However, it is debateable about his contributions because of Robert Lee’s association in the Civil War (1861-1865) to the Confederate Army that fought for the Southern States. Robert Lee lead many successful campaigns and battles including the following; helping defeat Mexican armies that lead to U.S land gains and westward expansion, battles against a more powerful army in the Civil War. Despite these achievements Lee’s loyalty for the Confederate Army that fought to uphold slavery undermines his success and is highly debateable about whether his contribution is justified or not. Robert Lee’s contributions to his nation begin before the Civil War in the Mexican-American War (1846-1848).

Kurt Vonnegut was born on November 11, 1922 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was raised in Indianapolis and lived there until he graduated high school and then he moved to New York so he could attend the Ivy League school Cornell University. At Cornell he beat tough competitors for a place at the school’s newspaper, The Cornell Sun, where he worked as a writer and then as an editor. However, Vonnegut did not succeed in school and he dropped out in 1943 to enlist in the Military which is very surprising considering he was a pacifist. Vonnegut 's experiences in the military had a very large impact on his writing.
Over the years the U.S and Venezuela has not had the best country relations. Although in the past the U.S and Venezuela have has great relations, they face many political difference once the Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez entered the office. He has felt that since the presidency of George Bush, there has been high tension on whether the U.S was a true partner. Hugo Chavez criticized US presidents in United Nations speeches and he formed alliances with Iran, Russia and Cuba. He also blamed the US for the earthquake that destroyed Haiti and he claimed the CIA was trying to assassinate him.
