The popular show Gilmore Girls is an excellent example of a “triangle of love,” a concept coined by Robert Sternberg, which outlines the different types of relationships that exist between people. This concept is based on the idea that relationships can be characterized by three components: intimacy, passion, and commitment. By examining the different types of relationships that exist within the show and the different types of love that are present, we can better understand how the triangle of love applies to real-life relationships.
