In the story “So I aint no good girl” by Sharon flake, in every scene, it show how rude and mean she is. Like when she was fighting another girl. Why is she so mean to the other girls? Sharon wants nobody to talk to her “boyfriend”. She doesn’t herself a good girl because she isn’t a good girl.
Assessment for Sarah’s Key Sarah’s Key, written by Tatiana De Rosnay, is a very unique book based loosely on a true story. Sarah, the main character in this book, is a little girl; in her preteens. Sarah at the beginning was very innocent, just as most little girls are.
In “Girl Unprotected”, Sports writer and journalist Laura Robinson argues that if you examine the Judicial system, then you will find a strong bias against victims of hockey abuses with an emphasis against women. Throughout her essay, Robinson uses the case against Mike Danton and the NHL to emphasize the issues of gender inequality and the lack of recognition to the abuses in hockey. Victoria Jenkins is an Australian author who has made a name for herself writing the highly popular Detective King and Lane series of novels. The first novel in the series was The Girls In The Water that Jenkins first published in 2017 to much critical acclaim and popularity among crime fiction fans. The series of novels features Detective Constable Chloe Lane and Detective Inspector Alex King who are the lead investigative characters that solve some mysterious murders in their hometown. Even though Jenkins’ writing has only come to the fore in the recent past, she has always been a writer. Right from her childhood, she would write stories and went on to win her first literary prize aged only ten.

" These situations that the characters are in, along with delicate word choice, elicit the audience to feel for them. These powerful stories are the main similarity between the two texts.
Love tends to effect each character’s action differently. For example, love is what motivated the plot of the story “The Valley of Girls” by Kelly Link. For instance, the Olds observed society and performed actions to make sure their children are aligned with success. Love and social status is what makes these people relate, or correlate with each other; it reminds me of a government politically develop by love and society. In “The Valley of Girls” by Kelly Link, from Teenagers and Old are motivated by two specific motives, which are love and social status.
Zadie Smith’s “The Girl with The Bangs” is a vivid account of a romantic relationship between two incompatible characters with vastly different personalities. Told from a first person perspective, it traces the narrator’s journey through an unusual relationship with the girl Charlotte, exploring what it is like “being a boy” – enthralled by a girl’s physical features and thus willing to tolerate any faults of any magnitude (188). His optimism and attraction to Charlotte eventually leads him to grief, where, blinded by their relationship, he is caught unawares and replaced by another boy. Yet, he also achieves an epiphany: that the relationship is built on irrational obsessions and motives and is thus ultimately unsustainable. Told in introspection,
Short stories are a piece of literature that holds a lesson in a small story, it has meaning behind it and with a large amount of imagery shows a picture of what the writer is trying to say. Short stories have been a very important piece of modern and past literature and always will, each story over the generations shows an evolution of not only english but also life in general. The story girl is an amazing short story by Jamaica Kincaid which has a deeper undertone of freedom while the mother explains how to be a lady. In the short story girl the mother explains how to be a lady, however with a deeper meaning of freedom behind it using a few key lines such as calling her daughter a slut.
When seeing the title “The Fat Girl” by Andre Dubus, I assumed it to be another story about a fat girl who would be depressed and insecure about her size. However, as I started reading, I learned that Louise, the fat girl, was not ashamed of herself and I became interested because my assumption was wrong. All the conflict about her size came from her mother and other relatives or friends. The title itself tells what the entire story is about. The entire story is about the life of “the fat girl”.

George Saunders first published The Semplica Girl Diaries in The New Yorker in 2012 and then again in his collection of short stories Tenth of December, in 2013. The main characters are a middle aged, unnamed man and his family (a wife, two daughters and a son). In an interview Saunders admitted that the inspiration for this twisted story came from a dream which explains the origin of a strange concept in it— Semplica girls, women from underdeveloped countries paid to hang in rich people’s gardens, connected to each other by a wire in their brains. However, the main message is a conscious writing choice. This story explores the struggles deprived people go through and choices they make when facing them.

‘Daddy’s little girls’ is a touching movie. The movie incites sadness in its viewers, the anguish felt by the protagonist and his children is one that many can identify with and understand. The central character Monty was an ambitious young man who grew up in an inner city community, he had three beautiful girls with is former partner, Jennifer. Monty’s daughters remained his priority throughout the movie and he fought tirelessly for the benefit of his children. Monty had to endure the selfishness of Jennifer, her poor parenting skills and her bad ill sense of judgement.

This phrase accurately represents the point that is being made in this passage. In Jamaica Kincaid’s piece, “Girl”, her mother is giving her advice on how to be and act like a proper woman. Her mother describes everything from how to properly do laundry to how to set a table for all occasions (Kincaid, 3-4).

The tone of “Girl” is loving, caring, but strict. Jamaica uses literary devices to achieve the tone. She uses characters, setting, plot, point of view and style to establish a tone.
