Are men really the superior gender? We declare in the US that women are men’s equivalent, nevertheless, women are reflected by society, to require a man. As Gloria Steinem, one of the first women to publicly speak out about the injustice towards women, once exclaimed, “A woman without a man, is like a fish without a bike.” Not only do we deal with the injustice, women everywhere also have a cloud of expectations and stereotypes just hanging over their heads, waiting to rain on their parades. Yet this isn’t only happening in modern society. Consequently, in 1850, society had altered the roles of women drastically so there would be an even larger gap between men and women. For some reason, nothing we ever do is right. If we never date we are a loner or a prude. Alternatively if a woman goes on too many dates she is a (insert un-academic vocabulary term). When a girl enjoys Starbucks and Ugg boots, she’s clichéd and stereotypical. Yet on the contrary, if she is fond of obscure coffee houses and combat boots she is a hipster or a wannabe trying too hard. If a girl listens to boy bands and popular music, she’s a follower. When a girl enjoys comic books, and playing video games, she’s a poser. If a woman has opinions on what happens in politics, suddenly she is a crazy social justice warrior. Otherwise if she chooses to remain out of the subject of politics, she is seen as an airhead. When a woman wears make-up she becomes fake in the eyes of society. At the same time if a woman wears no make-up she will never be loved by anyone. Hence nothing women do is correct, and anyone can find a way to make fun of the things women and girls choose to do, so that they can be …show more content…

Furthermore women are not able to get the same jobs as men. Many people say that women deserve to be paid less due to the fact that if the woman becomes pregnant they will have to find the woman a replacement, key word if. Many corporations believe that since a woman can become pregnant, that she will in fact become pregnant. Women who are more dedicated to their jobs than some men, are forced to suffer due to a small group of women who believe they have reached the ideal age to conceive a child and believe they are ready to handle a child. Many women who have no plan towards their lives are not in this group. Minimum wage is slightly more equal than those higher paying jobs society prefer women to have. Are women supposed to infer that society doesn’t desire women to be successful? Even when a woman is able to become successful in the eyes of society, others find multiple flaws within the personality of that woman. An extraordinary example of this, is Madam Hilary Clinton. Although she is running for president, for the second time, Mrs. Clinton has been able to draw a pleasant form of attention towards herself. Nevertheless it has not come without any unwanted attention. Before Mrs. Clinton announced she would run for president a conspiracy theory arose towards a fake email she may have created to be able to bypass public
