I already knew the story of Romeo and Juliet, but the new twist with the gnomes is well found. Like this the whole family can enjoy a remake of a classic story written by Shakespeare. The movie is very humorous, well-paced, exiting and of course romantic. It really outshines in its hilarious visuals. For example, when the figures break into a thousand pieces, or the philosophical conversation that Gnomeo carries with a statue of Shakespeare that is brought to live. The life-like drawing of the garden gnomes couldn’t have been easy, but the artists succeeded wonderfully. Another impressive feat is the cooperation of many great British actors like James McAvoy, Emily Blunt, Jason Statham, Maggie Smith, Ozzy Osbourne and many more.
