What do you like about this text? I like the book “Go Ask Alice” because it’s about a girl that has a difficult time. The book is anonymous. The book is based on a girl’s diary. Everything the girl went through is there. It states when the girl started using drugs and why she started consuming drugs. At the end of the book it stated that she overdosed. I think this is a great text to use because it talks about how consuming drugs is bad and can lead to death. This happened in real life, and this has become a big problem with todays’ youth. I feel that writing about a topic that we all know about can be good. Nobody really talks about how drugs have a negative result anymore since it has become something common within teenagers, and adults. Also, the girl went through depression. She wasn’t comfortable with herself and her surroundings. Teenagers and adults go through this, this is a great book that talks about what happens in real life. This is what I like about the book. 2.What do you think the author’s purpose was for writing this text? The book is anonymous, but I think the author’s purpose for writing “Go ask Alice” was to be able to release how she felt. Also, I think it’s going to be interesting to write about drugs, depression, youth, and being unconfident. I’m really excited to start writing the essay. Also, I think this book can be educational and there is a lot we can take and/or relate from the book. I actually thought of what I really wanted to write about and I didn’t want to write about something that is fictional. I want to write about something that happens in real life and something that can impact people. I want to be able to put tone, and emotion in my writing. I want to be able to feel my own writing.
