Goal setting includes setting your goal, strengthening it setting a path to accomplish it and understanding what that goal entails. Setting your goal is the first step in the process of goal setting and for a world class engineering student there first step would be to set the goals of studying for classes, becoming an involved student and most importantly graduate with a degree in engineering. Setting the goals is the easiest part of the goal setting process; however, without strengthening those goal the chances of accomplishing them would be very slim. Community building includes making friends, building helpful relationships with key people and being a part of co-curricular activities. For a world class student he would begin his community building by making new friends. He would choose friends that would be supportive of his dream. He would make friendships with kids in his class that have the same goals. Friends that have the same goal are key in achieving your goal because they are in the same situation as you and understand your struggles as well as they also can answer questions regarding your goal because they have already solved the question. The next kind of friend a world class student would make would be a friend that he would do non-school things with such as go to parties, go to the gym with or do fun activities with. I have had no trouble finding friends but I have only found a few that have the same goal as me. I have also become involved in a few clubs in school. Once club I am involved in is community council treasurer for my hall by managing all the money that we take in and spend as well as budget for the future. So far this is the only club I have become a part of and now I realize that I need to become part of more organizations. I can go onto the OSU website and look at all of the clubs and organizations that are on campus and choose 5 of then proceed to go to the meetings and at least join two more of them. When it comes to my relationship with my professors I can defiantly work on those for many different reasons. A couple of reasons that a relation with your professors is good because they will recognize your trouble and can help you when you need it as well as they can be lenient with grades if they know that you have a good work effort and enjoy there class. The next area of community building I need to work on is building relationships with friends that have the same goal as me which is the goal of graduating with a degree in engineering. I have one friend with the same goal of me and we complete most if not all of our homework together. Having friends like this is key because they will know information when you are lost as well
