During the review period Jeremiah transitioned from a DM, to a staff manager position leading the TCUV/TRAC/Accessories department and then he transferred over to the Digital Sales Department. With that, Jeremiah had many different goals and priorities throughout the year not the least of which was to try and bring more digital focus to dealerships’ TCUV and TRAC departments along with increasing the use of lease returns to build TCUV inventory. From a Grow perspective, he has shown that he wanted to learn about the used car business beyond just what the TCUV program was. In the Digital Sales department, he is looking for and attending conferences with his team to stay up-to-date on the latest processes and technology relating to the digital side of the auto industry. Jeremiah is also coaching his team members to get better at what they do and be a part of making the department more impactful on their dealers’ digital process. He worked with used car managers to learn about trade-in and reconditioning processes and also experienced how auctions work. Beyond that, Jeremiah had the opportunity to learn more about the planning, implementation, and execution of various incentives and contests and how they can be used to achieve department and company goals. Using his knowledge of used car operations, Jeremiah began to focus not just on the priority of achieving TCUV sales objectives, but also on how he could impact Toyota’s need to have dealers purchase off-lease vehicles. He also recognized that getting dealers to sell more TCUV and filling inventory by purchasing off-lease vehicles actually begins with advertising and improving a dealer’s digital presence which is why he incorporated digital components to his contests, as mentioned earlier. This showed that Jeremiah is growing and developing to look at the bigger picture of how the department he manages and the people he leads, can have a much bigger impact on Toyota’s overall business. He recognizes that it is not just about how he performs against objectives and goals, he is looking at how the Region and Toyota perform against their objectives and goals. As Jeremiah takes over as the Digital Sales Manager, I encourage him to continue to look for opportunities to affect Toyota’s and the Region’s overall goals and
