God of Carnage (Rough Draft)

The central theme that I got out of God of Carnage was how uncivilized we are as humans. Two couples meet to discuss an altercation between their kids and nothing gets solved. There is total mayhem between the two families and the more they stay around each other the worse the behavior gets. As soon as people disagree they can not stand being told their views are wrong. I did not experience any emotional moments throughout the play. It was more of a dark comedy throughout. The Raleigh family were dressed in very nice clothes. The husband was in a suit and the wife was in a seemingly expensive dress. This would give off a sense of sophistication, which at times were there and at others, the maturity was nowhere to be found. The acting was phenomenal in God of Carnage. The acting definitely supported the characters state of mind. Alan Raleigh was clearly irritated with everything that was going on between his business life, his son, and the other adults in the room with him. He was fed up by the end and after some drinks he appeared to have given up hope of any resolution. Her attitude towards nearly everything bothered me tremendously. I would if it was the only role I could get, but I would rather not be the character that is meant to piss everyone off. If you can play that role well enough people can dislike you. For example ever since I was young I have hated the actor Sam Rockwell because he played the antagonist in The Green Mile so well. I disliked him until Seven Psychopaths came out and I realized he was such a good actor that I looked at him as the character he played. God of Carnage was a great play and I am very happy I went.
