In this mural “Going to the Olympics” by Frank Romero I see five cars that have heart above each one, on top of that it has 5 other objects that each has their own meaning. The meaning of the cars probably tells us that having a car feels cool and that we used it not only to get to places, but to feel the car and be a part of it. The other five symbols which is located on top of the cars shows what Los Angeles represents from the Goodyear blimp to mail stamps to horse riding, each has their own meaning to what makes Los Angeles great. Last the palm tree and the heart, in Los Angeles you will see a lot palm tree beside the road as you cruise on through Los Angeles you will take notice this beautiful palm trees. Finally the city of Los Angeles has lots to offer and this mural shows exactly what Los Angeles really is. In Frank Romero's mural "Going to the Olympics" the artist wanted us to show that car is a symbol of freedom and just taking you to places you have never been before. Frank Romero feels that our city’s car culture has changed a lot over the years, now cars have gotten fancier and people aren’t taking notice of old classic cars. Then afterwards Frank Romero sued them for not consulting with him first when they painted over his mural. In my opinion, I agree with Frank Romero, he has the right to sue them because it was his mural that was painted over. The mural that he works hard and dedicated his time and blood on making it the best possible mural. For him not getting any noticed that his mural was getting painted over and then waking up one morning knowing unexpectedly that your mural was gone with another mural over it would be infuriated. As an artist that will shatter your pride knowing that your mural was just gone without your
