Everyone knows a golf GPS device will accurately give distance to the green. however, many models offer so much more than just the basic distance information. Many of the terms used to read a GPS correctly are explained below.

Statistics Tracking
Many GPS units allow you to track and review important statistics through your round. Standard statistics include putts per hole and round, clubs used, distances hit, fairways hit and missed to the left or right, greens in regulation, time to play and distance walked during the round. Reviewing your statistics allows you to pinpoint deficiencies in your game and a turn weakness into a strength.
