Eat. Drink. Sleep. Breathe. These are everyday functions that a person typically experiences throughout their lives. While good and evil thoughts and actions occur in everyone’s lives, some people may experience more of the good, or more of the evil. The luxurious fantasy to sit on the couch and sleep with a soda and a slice of pizza whenever one would like is a great ability, but not everyone has a life as comfortable as that. Eliezer and his father receiving only two meals a day causes them hunger, stress, weakness, and irritability. With no access to food, none of the traits that come from Eliezer's forced starvation benefit him for the better, for they are all evil. Lia from Wintergirls experiences a similar situation since she has anorexia. When Lia does not consume large amounts of food for a long time, she can relate to Eliezer. At dinner, Lia’s parents try and have her eat, but she refuses to. Lia’s starvation due to her anorexia affects her for the evil because consuming no food gives her a lack of nutrients which is affecting Lia’s health. Not eating causes Lia to be self conscious
